It has become a cherished tradition for students and faculty visiting Mendel University to embark on a city tour of Brno and its surroundings on the second day of the program. This time, Ukrainian students were given the chance to explore some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Hrad Špilberk, a historic fortress that offers stunning views of the city; the majestic Katedrála svatého Petra a Pavla, a symbol of Brno’s religious and architectural heritage; and the serene Denisovy sady, a picturesque park perfect for a peaceful stroll.
As they continued their tour, the students visited Zelný trh, the bustling central market filled with local produce and charm, Freedom Square, the heart of Brno’s vibrant urban life, and the historic Dominican Square, surrounded by beautiful baroque architecture.
The students were impressed by the seamless blend of historical significance and the energetic, modern atmosphere that Brno has to offer. They experienced firsthand why Brno is considered one of the top student cities in Europe, where rich cultural heritage meets dynamic student life.
